adieu, bon voyage "Little Red"

"Little Red" the fox and his S.W.A.G. companion

I packed up Little Red today, my first etsy sale. I left him the hands of the USPS, completely mummified in bubble wrap, surrounded by packing peanuts and enveloped in cardboard. My little handmade heart is singing, knowing he will be treasured in his new home. And, as my daughters and I celebrated with some hot beverages and sweet snacks… my etsy shop had another sale! Blessed be the patrons of the creative arts...

etsy launch

clockwise from top left: Reginald, Little Red, Claude & Aretha

Here they are. My first 4 listings on etsy. My intention is to post at least two per day until all my inventory is online. That is my intention. I will do my best to see that that actually happens. So far, so good. I have received so much encouragement and support and for that I am truly grateful. Thank you!

it all began with...

wanting to make my own Halloween decorations. Well, that and the opportunity to take an art class with my husband. I had an idea for a large black owl centerpiece that would hold dry, bare and twisted branches upon which I could hang small ceramic bats and skeletons. That was the birth of "Estelle", seen above on the left, and all of her other offspring, that I am now calling my etsy inventory (in addition to the names they have been given as individuals). "Cloak" is the name of the other fellow glaring out at you on the right in the photo above.

Please join me here on this blog (which will surely change in format and design once I get comfortable with this new online presence) to learn about new works of art, insight into my creative process, the things that inspire me, as well as current pieces for sale in the etsy shop, due to launch Tuesday, October 15, 2013.
